Fresh, resonating calls  are being made for the scrapping of national tertiary admissions clearing house, JAMB, over controversies generated since Education Minister, Mallam Adamu Adamu announced the scrapping of post-UTME tests by universities. Earlier in the week, after a meeting with administrators of universities and other tertiary institutions, the Joint Admissions & Matriculations Board announced yet another system by which students seeking admission into tertiary institutions can be admitted. This new system is called the Point System Option, or PSO. UNIBEN ADMISSION SCREENING UPDATE.

UNIBEN ADMISSION SCREENING EXCERCISE  The University of Benin (UNIBEN) ADMISSION Screening Exercise for 2016/2017 Academic Session will take place between 27th June, 2016 to 9th, July 2016 in designated centres within Ugbowo Campus of the University. The Screening Exercise shall be Computer Based. All candidates are expected to be seated, latest one hour before the stipulated time for the screening exercise. PLEASE NOTE: Only candidates who applied through JAMB for UTME Admission and chose University of Benin as First Choice and scored 200 and above are eligible for this Screening Exercise. JAMB DIRECT Entry is mainly for those that already possess a diploma certificate and wishes to go for a degree programme in the university. Normally, those who gained admission into the university via direct entry will start from 200level in the University of Choice provided when they were offered admission. All applicants must possess any of the following certificates or diplomas; Cambridge A Level, BSc, HND, ICAN, ND, NCE, OND, JUBEP and IJMB. All the holders of the diploma certificates listed above would be admitted provided they pass the direct entry examination and possess the institution requirements.
